Within the university there are many examples of leadership. One of them is pedagogical leadership. This course puts a pedagogical leadership perspective on various aspects of education and learning.
This course is aimed at those who already have – or will soon take on – a pedagogical leadership role (for example, as a head of department, director of studies, or program coordinator). The ultimate goal of the course is to provide you with tools and inspiration to drive pedagogical development forward, thereby contributing to high-quality education and improved student learning.
The course is based on pedagogical leadership and highlights how education and learning can be developed from a leadership perspective. During the course, you will have the opportunity to map the activities you lead, formulate a personal vision for your pedagogical leadership, and create an action plan for future development work.
"My expectations were primarily to grow in my role as a teacher and receive help to define that role. I think that was what I have got."
Theory and Practice: The course connects research, policy documents, and practical examples.
Pedagogical Leadership: Focus on balancing demands, responsibilities, and authorities.
Conflict Management: Strategies for preventing and managing conflicts. Pedagogical Philosophy: Discussion on its connection to leadership.
Educational Planning: Pedagogical perspectives on planning and student learning.
Regulations and Policy: Review of relevant policy documents. Practical Application: Concrete support to strengthen pedagogical leadership.
The course is based on a high level of participant activity, where each participant's knowledge and experience are valuable contributions to the learning process.
The course assignment involves formulating a vision for pedagogical leadership and identifying a pedagogical development need in your own organization. The participant will present a draft of a pedagogical action plan to address this need.
The number of course days: the course includes 10 working days of which six are scheduled and four are for individual work. The times are 8:30-16:00 with an hour for lunch.
