Doctoral studies as your next step

Are you interested in delving deeper into a scientific field after completing your master’s degree? As a doctoral student, you will be trained in critical and analytical thinking and to work independently as you acquire in-depth knowledge, explore the cutting edge of your field, and become part of the international research community. This can open up career opportunities in academia and in the private and public sectors.

A doctoral programme comprises four years of full-time study. As a doctoral student, you continue your education by taking courses in your subject area while conducting one or more research projects and writing a doctoral thesis. This is done under the supervision of an experienced researcher.

In addition to expanding your knowledge of a scientific discipline, you also train your critical and analytical thinking. Your studies will teach you to solve problems independently and prepare you for a career in academia and the private and public sector.
