When you get your Swedish personal identity number

This page provides details on how to request to change your temporary identity number to your permanent Swedish personal identity number in Ladok when you have received one. Personal identity number is referred to as personnummer in Swedish.

If you are not registered in the Swedish Population Register when admitted to your studies, you will automatically be given a temporary identity number in the admission system and Ladok student registry. The studies you start and complete will be registered in Ladok under your temporary identity number.

If you become registered in the Swedish Population Register and receive a Swedish personal identity number, you need to have this updated in Ladok.

Use the form to apply for a change from your temporary identity number in Ladok to your Swedish personal identity number.

Your completed studies will then be correctly registered with your Swedish personal identity number and the change will also be updated at other Swedish universities that use Ladok.
