Orientation for new international students

Moving to a new country with an unfamiliar language, culture and customs can be a challenge. We would like to help you and ease that challenge so that you can focus on your studies. Therefore, we would like to offer you the possibility to take part in our Orientation, which begins just before the start of each semester.

The Orientation consists of a series of lectures and activities that are designed to help you become acquainted with life in Umeå and studies at our university. It also offers a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. We highly recommend you to take part in the Orientation programme.

Orientation Autumn semester 2025

A welcome programme for new international students in Autumn semester 2025 will take place on Wednesday, 27 August during the afternoon in Aula Nordica on Campus Umeå and a pre-arrival webinar online on Wednesday, 20 August, 15:00–17:00 (3–5 p.m.).

This website will be updated no later than June with the programme and link to sign up for the pre-arrival webinar.
