Teams for collaboration

Teams allows you to gather all parts of your group work in the same platform. All group members can co-edit in the same documents, store your files in one place and communicate in the chat or via a team. Teams is versatile.

Communication

Teams is a good place to communicate as it has a chat, meeting function and channels for spreading information. Through Teams, you can gather your communication in one platform as the chat can be used for more informal communication, and channels in a team can be used for more formal communication.

Adjust your notifications

If all collaboration and communication around your studies are gathered in Teams, you will also have one app that gives you study-related notifications. In that way, it is easy to choose when you do not want to receive notifications about school work. During weekends and evenings or limited periods, for instance, you could turn your Teams notifications off.

Shared calendar

To not have to search the chat to find out when your next meeting will be held, you can use the calendar in Teams to book your meetings properly. If you are holding an online meeting in Teams, you can create a Teams meeting link straight from the calendar booking. If you have booked a group study room, you can also add this to the calendar and in that way simplify for all group members to keep track of your meetings.

Teams meetings

Teams is an excellent tool for online meetings, and for group work, as there are several useful functions. If you want to discuss matters in smaller groups or divide your work, you can split the meeting into groups using Breakout Rooms. You can use Whiteboard if you want to take mutual notes on one screen.

Get used to Teams before taking on your working life

Several workplaces use Teams, both for communication and as an intranet to share information and collaborate. By becoming accustomed to the tool, it will help you when you start your first job.
