What is a personal data breach?

A personal data breach can, for instance, be a hacker attack that steals all data from a system, an incident in which someone by accident gains access to personal data they are not authorised for, or that an email containing personal data is sent to the wrong person.

Report a personal data breach

If you discover that the personal data you process in your student assignment, project or thesis has fallen into the wrong hands, you must inform your department or supervisor.

Your supervisor, or someone else at your department, is responsible for reporting the personal data breach to abuse@umu.se.
