She earned her double PhD title at the University of Bremen, Germany, and at University Jaume I, Spain. She got an Extraordinary PhD Award in Experimental Sciences and Technology at UJI. At the last stage of her PhD, she carried out industry technology transfer at the company C-Robots. She got the City of Castellón Experimental Science award for her contribution to the automation of scrubber machines and automatic mosaic assembling.
As a postdoc, she worked for 7 years at Bremen Spatial Cognition Centre (Germany), where she was Marie Curie Fellow, Junior Fellow at Hansewissenschaftkolleg, and principal investigator of several research projects funded by the Excellent Initiative, and for 2 years at Universitat Jaume I with a prestigious Ramon-y-Cajal postdoc fellowship awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Science.
Over the past two decades, she has authored approximately more than 40 AI-related journal articles, collaborating with more than 50 different co-authors, her Erdös number is 4. She also contributed 2 books, 5 proceedings books, 19 book chapters and 50+ papers in conferences.
Her research interest are multidisciplinar and include Spatial Reasoning, Knowledge Representation, Human-Machine Interaction, Machine Learning, Cognitive Systems, and Creative Problem Solving.
