My research is mainly about the patient's contact and interaction with healthcare when seeking care in primary care for symptoms that may indicate cancer. My research focuses also on the patient's pathway through healthcare from suspicion to cancer treatment, the patient's need for information and support during and after completion of treatment, as well as on standardization of the diagnostic process and access to care for suspected cancer.
My dissertation was about reasons for delaying the diagnosis of malignant melanoma. I defended my dissertation in 2012 and have since held a position as a postdoc with affiliation to Dept. LIME Karolinska Institute. After the postdoctoral fellowship, I received in competition an assistant professor position and a lecturer position at the department with combined employment in primary care and RCC Norr. In 2018, I became an associate professor. I have worked as a district nurse in primary care and as a registered nurse in cardiac care and elderly care.
