WASP-HS Guest Professor in Art and AI
Sarah Cook is the WASP-HS Guest Professor in Art and AI in partnership with Bildmuseet, Umeå School of Architecture (UMA), and Umeå Institute of Design (UID), based in UmArts.
Sarah is a research-based curator and scholar working at the intersection of art, design, digital and electronic media, science and technology, with over 20 years experience in commissioning new media and digital art. Sarah has curated and co-curated over 50 international exhibitions for museums, galleries and festivals around the world; In 2019 she curated the exhibition, “24/7: A Wake-up Call for our Non-stop World” at Somerset House, London. Sarah's practice research concerns curating new media and digital art, and broadly documents recent histories of machine learning, generative systems and information in art, including writing about artists' works. She holds a professorship in Museum Studies in Information Studies at the University of Glasgow.
