Monowar received a doctoral degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Tezpur University (a Central University), India, in 2014. He was a Visiting Researcher in the Laboratory for Cyber Resilience at NAIST, Japan, funded by NICT, Japan, and worked as a Researcher, Department of Computing Science, Umeå University, Sweden, as an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) and an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat, India, and as a Researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Tezpur University (a Central University), India from January 2009 to December 2019. He primarily works in machine learning (distributed/federated/responsible), anomaly detection, systems and AI security, Edge AI, and distributed systems.

Having a long time in academics, I have years of experience teaching several courses and supervising Bachelor's and Master's theses. At UMU, I taught many courses -- Cloud Computing (5DV192), Distributed Systems (5DV186), Operating Systems (5DV171), and Computer Security (5DV220). I often teach Operating Systems (5DV171) and supervise multiple Bachelor and Master Theses in every session.
