Monowar received a doctoral degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Tezpur University (a Central University of India) in 2014. He was a Researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Tezpur University (a Central University), India, an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat, India, worked as a Researcher, Department of Computing Science, Umeå University, Sweden, Visiting Researcher in the Laboratory for Cyber Resilience at NAIST, Japan, funded by NICT, Japan, and Assistant Professor, Department of Computing Science, Umeå University, Sweden from January 2009 to November 2024, respectively. He primarily works in machine learning (distributed/federated/responsible), anomaly detection, systems and AI security, and distributed systems.
