Merja Torvinen works as an Associate professor in Finnish language at Umeå University in Sweden. With an extensive experience in language teaching in Finland, France, and Sweden, she has been awarded the title of pedagogically recognized university teacher (Umeå University, 2020). As a researcher, Torvinen’s main interests and research areas include critical discourse analysis, translation studies, travel literature and language teaching.
