Before starting PhD studies, I practiced as a criminological police investigator for the Royal New Zealand Police, specializing in prosecutions. During this time I also carried out research for the Evidenced Based Policing Centre, focusing on the psychological processes leading to sexual abuse and rehabilitation.
I recently completed my Master's degree at Umeå University in Public Health, with the aim of improving our understanding of epidemiological criminology, and how one's experiences of poor health promote criminal trajectories, while developing preventive strategies at an ecological level to reduce the emergence of criminal behaviors / cognitions.
My current research concerns the importance of school policy for students' health, in Sweden and internationally.
