My research is focused on how active ageing can be promoted through the development and implementation of health promotion, preventive and rehabilitation interventions in municipality contexts. As an occupational therapist, my focus is on the link between engagement in activities that people wants and need to do in their life and how that has an impact on health and well-being. Thus, the focus for the interventions that I focus on in my research, is on how to promote the persons´capabilities and optimize environmental support so the person can maintain or improve her/his engagement in valued activities. Increasingly, e-health has emerged as one format of how intervention can be delivered in an efficient way.
In addition to my work in the municipality of Östersund and at the Center for Ageing and Supportive Environments at Lund University I am affiliated to Epidemilogy and Global Health at Umeå University.
I am teaching on the occupational theray programme and on the master programme.
