Leif Sundberg

I have a broad range of research interests in the information systems (IS) field. These include:

• AI management and use of no-code artificial intelligence.
• Digital government (e-government).
• Digitalization and the risk society.

I've published several articles in scientific journals (including Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Safety Science and Business Horizons).  I received a large part of my undergraduate education at Umeå University, with bachelor's degrees in philosophy and media and communication science. These were my main subjects in a master of education at Mid Sweden University.

After working as a teacher and web editor / strategist in the public sector, I began my doctoral studies in Information Systems at Mid Sweden University in 2014. In 2019, I defended my dissertation "The Relation Between Digital Technology and Values: Thinking Through Multiple Technologies". The dissertation won second place in the Swedish Information Systems Academy's (SISA) Börje Langefors Prize 2020.

In 2021-2022, I was affiliated with Umeå University as a postdoctoral researcher

In January 2023 I started my current positions an associate professor (Swe: universitetslektor) at the department of informatics. I am also affiliated with Mid Sweden University as a part-time researcher.

SCDI AI Business Lab

I teach at the department of informatics. My teaching includes the following courses:

• Artificial intelligence and society.
• Artificial intelligence for business.
• Data analytics.
• Project management.
• Supervision of bachelor and master theses.

I am also international contact person at the department, responsible for coordinating students' exhange studies.
