I am a Senior Lecturer and deputy head of the unit at the Centre for Principal Development (CPD), Department of Political Science. My work is mainly within the Swedish National Head Teacher Training Programme where school and preschool principals are educated.

In June 2016 I became a PhD in Educational work. My research interests, as well as my thesis work, are foremost about learning and the relation between learning and Information and communication technologies (ICTs). My thesis work is based on my experiences of working as a teacher in school (formal education) and as a trainer in organised education and learning outside of school (non-formal education for non-profit organisations and associations).

Within formal education I have worked as a teacher for almost 13 years in primary school, age 7-13 year old learners. I have a Bachelor of Education for Swedish and Social Sciences with an additional add-on of the subject of Physical Education & Health. In school I have had special interest in issues regarding inclusion, ICTs, Entrepreneurial learning and methods for recognition of learning.

Within non-formal education I have been a contracted trainer by the Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society (formerly known as Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs). I was assigned to training and support of organisations and individuals regarding methods for recognition and documentation of learning. The trainings were, and still is situated within the European Union programme Youth in Action (now known as Erasmus+: Youth in Action), where youth from 18-to-30 years old participate in e.g. Youth exchanges or European voluntary service (EVS). The programme offers recognition of learning through the strategy and the tool Youthpass that was one of the cornerstones in the trainings when I was a trainer.

I have experiences from working within two European networks/groups that are connected to the European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe:

Member of the European Training Strategy Advisory Group (ETS AG). I am selected and nominated as an expert researcher by the European Commission, Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture. The role of the ETS AG is to follow up, exchange on and discuss the developments of the European Training Strategy in the field of Youth, including European and national developments related to relevant aspects, of quality development of youth work and non-formal and informal learning. Member of the Pool of European Youth Researchers (PEYR). I was selected and nominated as a member of PEYR between 2017 and 2020. PEYR represents a contribution of both the Council of Europe and the European Commission to evidence based policy-making in the field of youth. PEYR provides expertise on demand, discusses broader issues connected to youth issues and provides input to policy initiatives of both the European Commission and the Council of Europe.
