My interests are identity constructions and power relations within the field of sport and special education with particular reference to, ability, disability, gender and equality.
In May 2014 I was appointed associate professor as part of Umeå University's effort to develop the area of Special Education from Umeå School of Education. The posts comprise research (80%) and teaching (20%) for four years and were aimed at strengthening Umeå University's position regarding research and teaching within the field of Special Education. Currently, I am the coordinator of interdisciplinary research collaboration for Special Education at Umeå University and a team member of the DISLIFE research project Liveable disabilities: Life courses and opportunity structures across time, led by professor Lotta Vikström: http://www.idesam.umu.se/english/research/research-projects/dislife/
