My research area is neurodegenerative diseases, with a focus on amytrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In my research I investigate the links between clinical expressions of ALS disease, genetic variants, and how the brain looks at a microscopic level. The goal is to find new targets for drug treatment. I am also a neurologist and an investigator in clinical pharmaceutical drug trials aiming to slow down and prevent ALS disease.
