Jan Grimell is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology and an Associate Professor of Sociology. His research includes contemporary studies of military chaplaincy as well as issues related to the well-being and health of military personnel and veterans. Specific focus areas include existential, spiritual, and religious perspectives on health and well-being, identity construction and professional identity, Moral Injury, and diagnoses such as PTSD. Jan also studies identity construction among youth in relation to diagnoses like ADHD.
By combining perspectives from social psychology, sociology of religion, and medical sociology, Jan creates a multifaceted research approach.
