Iker Valle Aramburu obtained his BSc in Biochemistry from the University of The Basque Country (Spain) in 2011 and his MSci in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Heidelberg University (Germany) in 2013.
Iker did his PhD under the supervision of EA Lemke at EMBL Heidelberg, where he studied the interaction mechanism between the intrinsically disordered proteins of the nuclear pore complex and nuclear transport receptors using divers biophisical and chemical biology approaches.
For his postdoc, Iker joined the Papayannopoulos Lab at The Francis Crick Institute and focussed his research on innate immunity and neutrophil biology.
Now, Iker has started his lab as a MIMS (Swedish Node of EMBL molecular medicine partner institutes) group leader, where applying his interdisciplinary background with state-of-the-art technologies he aims to uncover the role of the unknown microproteone in innate immune processes.
