I am a PhD student in public health. My doctoral thesis will develop methods and knowledge to assess the health consequences of car traffic and sustainable transport solutions in modern cities. Important elements are to fill knowledge gaps about the health effects of traffic pollution, consider the health benefits of active transport such as cycling and develop the use of measures that can be used to weigh different types of health impacts such as DALY/QALY measures and health economic values when addressing sustainability.
