Frida is a medical doctor with a passion for infectious diseases and a focus on viral hepatitis. Her journey began at Uppsala University, where she pursued her medical studies. Following this, she embarked on her internship in Norrbotten and continued her residency at the infectious disease clinic at Sunderby Hospital.

It was during her residency that Frida's fascination with infectious diseases, particularly viral hepatitis, blossomed. She did a research project on the treatment of hepatitis C within forensic psychiatry and played a pivotal role in the development and initiation of the needle exchange program in Norrbotten.

Currently serving as the medical doctor in charge, Frida actively contributes to the treatment and elimination efforts for viral hepatitis. Her infectious disease specialization in 2020 coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. This period provided her with clinical experience and a heightened interest in caring for COVID-19 patients.

In 2022, Frida registered as a Ph.D. student in Anne-Marie Fors Connolly lab. Her current focus revolves around exploring the relationship between viral hepatitis and COVID-19. Engaging in register-based studies, Frida has also initiated work within the Swedish Interdisciplinary Graduate School in Register-Based Research (SINGS).

Frida's work has earned her stipends and scholarships, and she will present her work on the global stage, for example at the APASL conference in Kyoto, Japan, in March 2024 and ECCMID, Barcelona April 2024.
