I study the use of IT from a pedagogical perspective with technologies such as AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) and AI (Artificial Intelligence).
My research primarily focuses on the field of education, especially on the use of digital technologies to enhance and transform pedagogical processes and methods. By integrating advanced technology such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching, I aim to explore and expand the boundaries of learning, from basic education to professional development.
Over the years, I have studied the use of computers and tablets in schools, focusing on their implementation and effects on learning and teaching. More recently, I have conducted studies on the use of AR and VR technologies, particularly in higher education pedagogy, where I have explored how these technologies can adapt and enrich instruction, especially in scientific fields such as chemistry.
My studies have also demonstrated how gamification can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy, combined with digital tools and immersive technologies, to create engaging and interactive learning experiences. The research extends beyond traditional educational environments, examining AI's role in professional sectors such as dental care, where AI, for example, through socially intelligent agents (SIA), transforms patient interaction and clinic administration.
Within the AI domain, my research is part of a broader initiative aiming to integrate AI into the education sector, promoting an interdisciplinary understanding and use of AI in pedagogical contexts.
The goal of my research is not only to understand the challenges of using digital technology in education but also to explore how these opportunities can create adaptive, interactive, and engaging learning environments that support the development of students and professionals. The research aims to provide insights and practical solutions for education systems and professional training, contributing to a deeper understanding of the role of digital technology in learning processes and how its use can transform and improve pedagogical practice and learning environments, opening up new opportunities for innovation and engagement within the education sector. By continuously studying and implementing these technologies, the research strives towards a future where education can become more inclusive, adaptable, and forward-looking.
