My research interests lie in the field of inclusion and exclusion in historical educational contexts. In my current postdoctoral project, I examine the relationship between race biology and gender in Swedish educational debates, with a particular focus on the inclusion and exclusion of girls and women from higher education during the first half of the twentieth century.
In my doctoral thesis, The Creation of the New Human, I explored the relationship between eugenics and education in the writings of the Swedish educator and author Ellen Key (1849–1926). I analysed how eugenics was integrated into Key's pedagogy as part of her educational aims, proposed learning content and ideas about socialization, with the goal of 'improving' humanity.
