I am an associate professor in physiotherapy and work as a senior lecturer at the Department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation, at the Physiotherapy Program. I am also a specialist physiotherapist in the field of cardiovascular disease and work with cardiac rehabilitation at the Heart Center, Umeå University Hospital. I conduct research on physical performance, physical activity and exercise in congenital and acquired heart disease. The main profile of my research is congenital heart defects in children and adults. In this area, physical activity, muscle function and body composition are the topics that I am currently researching most actively on. I have built up a broad network both nationally and internationally within which I conduct research collaborations regarding congenital heart disease. In addition to this, I run a research project on cardiac rehabilitation that is supervised remotely. This project is carried out in collaboration with a research group at Deakin University, Melbourne.
