Anna-Lena Perdahl is a senior lecturer and social worker with a PhD in social work from Umeå University. Between 2016 and 2022, she served as the Head of the Department of Social Work. Her primary research area focuses on organizational development in social work, where she developed and tested an interactive documentation model aimed at fostering reflection and dialogue among social service staff. This approach helps drive development and improve the quality of everyday work.
Her dissertation, Organizational Development in Social Work: Construction and Testing of an Interactive Model, explored how such a model can be implemented to improve work processes in social organizations. Her research highlighted that discussions and reflections on one's work bring new insights, enhancing both individual performance and collective operations. Anna-Lena has also authored multiple reports and articles on quality improvement and is an active participant in both national and international social work conferences.
