My name is Amelie Brynedal, and since summer 2020 I am a PhD student at the Institution of public health and clinical medicine at Umeå University. I am also currently specializing in respiratory and internal medicine. My thesis will focus on electronic cigarettes and how they affect our cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Epidemiologically I will also have a wider perspective regarding tobacco usage, using material from the OLIN-studies.

At the moment the focus of my work is mainly getting my PhD studies started and analysing and interpret already collected data. One of the works of my thesis has already been published, Acute effects of electronic cigarette inhalation on the vasculature and the conducting airways, 2019. Through my work regarding electronic cigarettes my aim is to obtain more knowledge about how this relatively new product affects us.
