Om kursen
Experience the craftsmanship of Swedish sloyd traditions! Learn how to woodcarve and make traditional Swedish sloyd-artifacts, such as log- and bentwood boxes with color schemes based on personal expression.
We will work hands on in our woodshop at Umeå University. You will learn to handle and care for hand tools such as knife, axe, saw and spokeshave. Certain costs for materials may apply.
The course is designed for exchange students, phd-students and researchers etc. from other cultures who want to express themselves through material and at the same time learn more about Swedish craft culture. No skills required.
The course runs in 25% studie rate and we will meet on evenings.
