Course levels:
200-level = for students in 1st and/or 2nd year
300-level = for students in 2nd and/or 3rd year
400-level = for students in 3rd and/or 4th year
500-level = for students in 4th and/or 5th year
600 & 700-level courses are graduate courses and are not open to undergraduate students
Course information: Term/full year course: 3 credits/6 credits
Full time studies (corresponding to 30 hp):
Undergraduate: 15 credits
Graduate: 12 credits
Academic year
Autumn term: September–December
Winter term: January–April
Additional costs
As an exchange student, you do not need to pay tuition fees. However, additional costs may incur.
Mandatory fee for Student Transit Pass ($150 per semester) and Campus Recreation Pass ($35 per semester)

Accommodation
On-campus housing is not guaranteed for exchange students, so students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. The online housing application for students starting in September opens in December. The online application for students starting in January opens in May. Students do not need an acceptance letter from our office or a UCalgary ID number to apply for housing.
Approximate Cost: $3000 – $4000 CAD per semester (4 months)
Off-Campus Housing
Students who do not wish to live on campus are responsible for finding their own accommodation. University of Calgary can give advice on where to find accommodation.
Approximate Cost: $800 – $1,200 CAD per month
