Please note that at Tohoku University, there are different programmes that exchange students can apply for. They are: IPLA, JYPE, COLABS and DEEP.

Restrictions
JYPE is open to students within the fields of Science, Engineering and Agricultural studies.
IPLA is open to students within the fields of Economics, Management, Education, Literature, Agricultural Economics and Law.
COLABS is open to students within the fields of Natural Science.
To apply to COLABS, students must obtain prior consent from their prospective academic advisor(s) at Tohoku before applying.

JYPE: 13 credits
IPLA: 15 credits
COLABS: 30 credits

Autumn term: October - March
Spring term: April - September
Additional costs
As an exchange student, you do not need to pay tuition fees. However, additional costs may incur.
Ex: Mandatory fees, health insurance, administrative fees, English test
Accommodation
Exchange students are required to live in the university dormitories. You may state your preference for a particular dormitory in your application, but your preference is not guaranteed.
