Restrictions
An undergraduate diploma is needed in order to study at a graduate level. If you are studying an integrated masters (sv. 4 eller 5 årigt direkt masterprogram t.ex. civilekonom eller civilingenjör), it is possible to apply for graduate studies without a diploma.
Students must prove proficiency in English, either by providing proof of studying a programme taught in English at UmU, or by providing a valid Official Language Proficiency Score certificate.

Students are required to study the majority of their courses at the department/graduate school that they are enrolled in.
Full time studies (corresponding to 30 hp):
Undergraduate studies: 16 credits (3-4 courses)
Graduate studies: 12 credits
Japanese Language Programme (Intensive): 8 credits
Japanese Language Programme (Regular): 16 credits
Minimum studies: 10 hours of instruction per week
Academic year
Autumn term: September–January/February
Spring term: April - August
Additional costs
As an exchange student, you do not need to pay tuition fees. However, additional costs may incur.
