I am leading a research group, the Organic Photonics and Electronics Group, which develops a wide variety of photonic and electronic materials, devices and applications.
The materials (e.g. organic semiconductors and electrolytes) are either synthesized in house or provided by academic and commercial collaborators, and investigated by a plethora of advanced measurement techniques. The most promising materials are utilized for the fabrication of devices, in the form of, e.g., light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), OLEDs, solar cells and transistors.
Our goal is the realization of devices that enable improved and novel applications, and which are sustainable thoughout their entire lifecycle, i.e. during fabrication, operation and recycling.
