Högre seminariet i religionsvetenskap och teologi bjuder in till seminarium med Katja Valaskivi, Helsingfors universitet. Seminariet har den engelska titeln "Studying mediatized religious populism".
Abstract (på engelska): While introducing the newly established Helsinki Research Hub on Religion, Media and Social Change (Heremes) this talk focuses on one of the Hub’s research projects, the ongoing Academy of Finland -funded consortium on Mediatized Religious Populism. The aims of the project are firstly to look into how religious institutions cope with different mediatized populist trends and secondly to map out the so called underbrush religiosity on different social media platforms and its relationship to populism. In the meeting we can in addition to methodological issues hopefully also discuss comparable trends in Nordic countries.
