Working with the education of children and young people is arguably one of the most important professions in society. Educational science at Umeå University is solidly grounded in research and provides our students with a firm professional basis for a career in teaching, study and vocational counselling or special education.
Umeå School of Education provides training for after-school centre staff, pre-school, primary, secondary and upper secondary school teachers, as well as study and vocational counsellors and school heads.
We also cater for teachers who wish to build on their degree by taking special education or special needs courses. Course offerings also include training for unqualified teachers who wish to acquire a teaching degree, continuing professional development training for practising teachers and special training for teachers of practical subjects at the upper secondary level.
