WHITE, WHITE, WHITE & WHITE: The Swedish standard of white domestic interiors
This architectural thesis is an investigation upon the Swedish standard of white painted surfaces of domestic interiors. The Swedish standard of white colour is not a standard though any means of laws or regulation but though it being common, typical, and arguably even expected in the Swedish household. The point of departure has been on the theme of radical domesticity through the focus lens of interiority. The study of interiority in relation to domesticity aimed to critically question the status quo of interior domestic setting. The paper aims reveal the historical context, economic and political agendas that is hidden behind this standard of the white Swedish domestic interiors.
