Use UMF infrastructure – apply for funding

Are you researching the effects of climate change? Is your research focused on aquaculture or blue economy? If so, you can apply to use our advanced infrastructure, such as our modern mesocosm facilities, ships, analysis laboratories and analytical expertise, free of charge.

In April 2024, two major EU projects were launched with the common aim of promoting research on the impacts of climate change, aquaculture, fisheries, and blue economy. The overall goal is to use European research infrastructures to make society better equipped to build a resilient and sustainable future. Within both projects, it is possible to apply to use the infrastructure that exists at the facilities included in the project.

Umeå Marine Sciences Centre participates in both projects, which means research groups can apply to use our infrastructure. The research groups that are granted access to our infrastructure will have costs covered for both the actual use of the infrastructure, analyses, and available expertise, as well as for travel, food, and accommodation.

The two projects have a combined budget of €30 million and will run for five years. The opportunity to apply will be opened shortly. Feel free to contact us to discuss your application, or to get answers to your questions about what we have to offer.
