UID23 hosted talks with invited special guests Beno Juarez (Founder FAB LAT), Diana Africano Clark (Head of UX & Design, Kivra) as well as our own Ambra Trotto (Associate Professor at UID) who facilitated the closing panel discussion.
Beno Juarez is a pioneer in digital manufacturing technologies in Latin America and one of the most creative young minds focused on solutions with high social and environmental impact from Latino America. He is the founder and director of the first Fab Lab in South America, the Latin American Network of Fab Labs, and of the Amazon Floating Fab. The groundbreking floating lab on the Amazon gives local communities along the river access to technological tools to help them cope with their daily challenges with water, energy, health, food, and education.
Diana Africano Clark is currently Head of UX & Design at Kivra. She has over 18 years of experience leading, coaching and challenging interdisciplinary teams across multicultural environments. Previously, she held executive positions as VP Design and partner at Veryday and McKinsey Design. With a passion for inclusivity, she approaches design and business challenges through an insight-fueled approach, focusing on user experience strategy and participatory processes, always seeking to contribute to socially sustainable and innovative results.
