Hyper Abilities
Hyper Abilities is a project that aims to include a wider range of users, when traveling, through the senses. Today traveling in a vehicle is mainly a treat for the visual sense. The journey is not always an equitable experience, and therefore limits everyone’s experience. I saw an opportunity in turning sightseeing into scene-sensing, by utilizing the sensors of self-driving vehicles. We could use their awareness of the surroundings to communicate the world to us in new ways, to be more inclusive and to invite everyone to have better experiences. The conclusion in this thesis is, that the sense of touch can act as a common ground for individuals, fully abled or not. The interior is designed around a tactile interface, using ultra sonic speakers to project sensations on your hands, communicating the world passing us by. Giving each traveller the opportunity to take part in the experience.
