AORA
In 2020, 13.4 million premature babies were born, with rates steadily rising representatively by 12% in the U.S. from 2014 to 2022. The WHO’s family-centered care and zero separation standards, promoting 24/7 parental presence in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), can reduce infant mortality by 25% and enhance long-term outcomes. Despite these advancements, healthcare professionals face challenges in meeting the needs of both infants and mothers as a unit. Missing space and complex arrangement of devices, cables, and tubes often lead to logistical difficulties, early parent-infant separation, and hindered skin-to-skin contact—transitioning infants from incubators to their parents is particularly delicate and time-intensive. AORA promotes this care by merging required devices into a modular incubator system that reduces footprint, minimizes clutter, organizes cables, and streamlines infant transfers. Its unobtrusive monitoring capabilities and transport-friendly design reassure parents to connect earlier while supporting healthcare professionals in delivering seamless, family-centered care.
