Snickers Apron

Design Project 2 (BFA2) 2024

This apron is designed to hold the essential tools of craftsmen and artists in a workshop environment, protecting their clothes from dirt and chemicals as they work, while simultaneously allowing for a comfortable range of movement and working positions. Shape, size and location of pockets are optimised for small, lightweight tools such as pens, pliers, phones and small knives. This is because larger tools tend to hang on racks or rest on benches throughout the user’s environment, which removes the necessity for large and cumbersome tool carrying on the body. Straps and fasteners are designed to distribute weight evenly along the back, and to make the process of getting into and removing the apron as easy as possible. In short, this apron makes life in the workshop easier by protecting you from dirt, holding your most important tools, while allowing you to move as you please.
