Result: A shopping system inducing climate action
Sustainable groceries
Many of nature’s challenges arise from individuals lacking urgency, responsibility, and connection to nature, leading to inaction on sustainability issues. Our project focuses on grocery shopping, guided by the question: How might we make humans feel part of nature to induce climate action? Our design process has involved, among other things, conversations with representatives of nature, workshops, and shifting perspectives. By attempting to see through nature’s eyes, we’ve included it as an active participant. This concept shows how our shopping choices can have a more positive impact on nature. It provides tools for sustainable action and helps individuals to better connect to the climate crisis, using positive reinforcements. It emphasizes collaboration, reminding us that humans are part of nature, not separate from it. This project was part of the Hot Team course focusing on integrating nature as an active participant in the design process. The aim was to shift perspectives and address environmental and social sustainability by involving "nature players" in participatory design. Teams selected specific struggles, engaged in hands-on prototyping, and developed frameworks for inclusive decision-making. The project included coaching sessions, sharing sessions, weekly reflections, and a final exhibition to communicate the identified struggles and design solutions.
