Problem statement
Restrictive eating children
Edō is a therapeutic toolkit designed for children aged 3-4 with sensory-based feeding difficulties. These children often have a strong aversion to certain types of food, usually based on texture, taste, smell, or appearance, resulting in a very limited diet. The toolkit is based on the principles of the evidence-based SOS (Sequential-Oral-Sensory) Approach to Feeding. This approach focuses on increasing a child’s comfort level with food by exploring and learning about different food properties through playful and non-stressful interactions. Edō provides a wide variety of ways to play with, investigate, and manipulate food, engaging all five senses. The project has been conducted in collaboration with a wide range of professionals working in the field and families dealing with these challenges. They have been contributing with recurring feedback sessions throughout the process.
