Monto - Mobile banking for youths
Young persons today face a lot of challenges transitioning into adulthood, one type of challenge is being able to manage your finances. There is an abundance of material available that informs about the practicalities on how to manage one's finances, but still youths feel insecure and anxious about how their financial futures will be. Therefore, I focused on behaviours, awareness and understanding rather than practical skills.
In creating this design suggestion I had a close collaboration with my target group. They were highly involved in ideating around the identified challenge areas as well as testing my design suggestions.
The result is a mobile bank service called Monto, where target group challenges: keeping track, overspending and "borrowing" from savings has lead to functionality that demands presence, visualises relations between actions and their consequences, as well as helping users in staying true to their commitments to themselves. These solutions are called Base, Monto Pay and Future space and are best explained in my pitch video and pictures above.
I'm very grateful to my collaboration partners and all others I've had the privilege to meet during my project. My main take away is that finding and staying true to an intention will create ideas that questions how things could be, and also that you sometimes need a friend to remind you of that.
Thank you for showing an interest in my project! If you would like to chat just reach out to me through the contact info on this page!
