A Saint Plummets to Earth

The night of Lucia, deemed dangerous and occult during the Middle Ages, was associated with folklore about dark forces and contributed to the fear of witchcraft that later fueled the witch trials. Not only does saint Lucia carry the light, she also carries a link between tradition and fear of the supernatural.
