A Timeless Moment
Arvid Snidare
I have had a curiosity about prehistoric times for as long as I can remember looking for an understanding of how people thought and lived in the past. So I chose to embody my thoughts through this work, and then also give myself space to get a deeper understanding of our prehistory.
The fire is something that is constant over time, when you sit by the open fire, how your eyes are drawn to the flames and it feels like time stops. For me, the magic of fire is something humans must always be fascinated by. The fire and the viewer are reflected in the silver-colored statue, with this I want to invite the viewer to think back to a simpler time, when fire was humanity's most advanced technology.
Sculpture of paleolithic man looking into an open fire, the sculpture is reflective to invite reflection on our forgotten past.
