Students enrolled for full-time studies at UID programmes and one-year courses are entitled to one (1) material cabinet/workshop locker for the duration of their studies. The locker is assigned by the UID house technician when the student enrolls at UID. It is under no circumstances allowed to occupy more than one (1) material cabinet/workshop locker, since we need to ensure that all students can get a locker.
Students may also additionally use one (1) changing room locker in the workshop dressing rooms, upon agreement with the UID house technician.
Materials cannot be left in locker/cabinet while a student is away on internship or leave from studies for a whole term or more. Any lockers/cabinets left locked without consent from the UID house technician when a student is away on internship or leave will be opened and emptied of all materials. Graduating students must also empty and clean their locker/cabinet prior to leaving UID before summer. Returning students, including BFA/IDI students who are joining MFA may be allowed to store materials in the locker over summer, upon agreement with the UID house technician.
Locker rules
The student is responsible for arranging a lock for their locker.
The student is responsible for ensuring that no hazardous chemicals are stored in the material cabinet or changing room locker.
If the student suspends their studies or goes away on internship the cabinet/locker must be emptied and made available for new students.
Before the end of every spring term the cabinet/locker must be emptied and cleaned, unless the student has confirmed otherwise with the UID house technician (see above).
Locked lockers/cabinets not confirmed with the UID house technician will be opened and emptied by UID staff during summer, and the student will be charged a fine for this.
