Important note! Hanyang University has decided to accept exchange students only to the Undergraduate program and is not accepting students to the Graduate program. Graduate students are still welcome to join the Undergraduate program if the home university permits this.

Important Note! Hanyang University’s Administration Office of Graduate School is only located in Seoul campus. Due to this, all exchange students coming to Hanyang University ERICA should be enrolled in Bachelor (Undergraduate) level regardless of their degree level in their home university. But we can still accept Graduate students (Master only), and ERICA’s graduate courses will be taught at ERICA campus. Graduate level students will be automatically registered as 4th grade of Undergraduate level at Hanyang.

Course information:
Exchange students are allowed to take courses from different departments upon availability. The most up-to-date course list becomes available a month prior to the beginning of semester. Until then, students should refer to the previous year’s course list. (e.g. 2024 Fall semester applicant should refer to 2023 Fall semester course list). But note course list may differ every year.

Additional costs
As an exchange student, you do not need to pay tuition fees. However, additional costs may incur.
All international students will automatically be enrolled in the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS). Cost is approx: 70,000 - 80,000 South Korean Won per month. This enrolment is mandatory and only in few cases an application of exemption of the NHIS is approved.
Accommodation
Seoul Campus:
On-campus dormitory will not be available until further notice. Instead, Hanyang University will share useful information through newsletter that students can refer to when arranging accommodation.
ERICA campus:
Students can apply for on-campus dormitory and the application will be done separately approximately two (2) months before the semester begins.

ERICA Campus:
There are two types of Korean Language Courses available for exchange/visiting students at Hanyang University ERICA:
- The Survival Korean course is provided by the Institute of International Education (IIE) exclusively for exchange/visiting students, with the tuition fee fully covered by the Office of International Affairs (OIA).
-The Intensive Korean course is open to all students, not just exchange/visiting students, and requires payment of the tuition fee.
Buddies are current Hanyang students who volunteer to support new students for their smooth settlement and adjustment into the life and culture in Korea. Representing Korea as a cultural delegation, buddies will interact with new exchange/visiting students throughout the semester and provide them assistance in various areas. Application instructions will be shared before the semester starts.
