Campus: La Trobe has several campuses close to Victoria, the main campus is located in the Melbourne suburb Bundoora and has 21,000 registered students.
Student life: Over 50 student clubs are available with a focus on theater, film, politics and sports. The Sport Center located by the main campuses houses a swimming pool, dance studio, climbing wall, volleyball, badminton, squash and basketball courts.

Restrictions

An undergraduate diploma is needed in order to study at a graduate level. If you are studying an integrated masters (sv. 4 eller 5 årigt direkt masterprogram t.ex. civilekonom eller civilingenjör), it is possible to apply for graduate studies without a diploma. 

La Trobe’s English Language Requirements:

- High School diploma (gymnasiebetyg) with an English grade of C or better. This must be completed within 5 years prior to LTU course commencement.
- OR by completing a full year (60hp) in an undergraduate or postgraduate course where English is the language of instruction at UmU.
- OR an English language test if the above conditions are not met.

 

Entry into some health sciences subjects is restricted and cannot be guaranteed.  
Exchange students are only permitted to study at their Bundoora (Melbourne) campus and Bendigo campus.

To find courses for exchange students, choose ‘Advanced Search’ and then ‘Subjects’. Once you have found a course that is of interest, open that course webpage and check whether it is open for exchange students.

Additional costs

As an exchange student, you do not need to pay tuition fees. However, additional costs may incur. 

Student visa – base cost 1600 Australian Dollars (Roughly 10500 SEK) 
It is compulsory to obtain a visa to study in Australia.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not guaranteed for exchange students. There are housing options on both the Bundoora and Bendigo campuses.

Student grants and loans for studies outside of Sweden

You may be entitled to student grants and loans from CSN when studying abroad.

As the cost of living and accommodation may be higher abroad, you can apply for an extra loan known as an additional loan for studies abroad.

You can also apply for an additional loan to cover additional costs, i.e. travel and insurance costs.
