At the department, post-graduate studies are carried out within two different areas, pedagogically work and the didactics of different subjects. While didactics can be considered to have a focus on students' knowledge and how it can be developed, pedagogically work also treats for example motivation, attitudes and epistemology.

Assisting head of department is contact and responsible for the post-graduate studies at the department. At the department there is also a council for research and post-graduate studies that prepare strategic questions and formulates guidelines.
