When you have returned home from abroad, it is time to apply for the courses to be credited at Umeå University. Application for credit transfer is made to the Student Center / Exams at Umeå University.
Courses must be approved
When you study abroad via the university or the institution, your choice of course must be approved in advance by our international coordinator Rolf Hugoson. You therefore need to discuss your course selection for your exchange studies and also during the length of stay if changes occur. Before departure, a so-called Learning Agreement is established for exchange studies, which states which courses you should read.
Credit transfer
Courses you have read abroad can be transferred to Swedish higher education credits once you have returned home. The courses are transferred either as equivalent to a course you should have read here, eg. Political Science B, or as stand-alone courses. Note, however, that the course selection must be approved in advance as above in order for it to be possible. You can apply for credit transfer when you have received your grades from the host university, or when the grades have been submitted to the department.
Application
Application is made to the Student Center.
