Erasmus
The exchange within Europe takes place within the framework of Socrates, the so called Erasmus exchange. The department currently has agreements with 35 institutions (political science, management and social policy). Some universities also offer peace and conflict studies. See also our partner university!
Exchanges include one or two semesters. It is the department in Umeå that nominates the students who are allowed to go, only then do you apply for the guest university. If you have been given the go-ahead that you are allowed to go, you also have the opportunity to get an Erasmus scholarship.
Next application deadline is: March 2, 2021 at. 17:00.

North2North is an exchange that covers the northern regions of Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland, USA, Canada and Russia.
You can also go out on your own as so called freemover. The difference between exchanges within contracts and as a freemover is that in the former case there are worked-up contacts, you do not have to pay tuition fees, you are guaranteed housing, there is a scholarship and the university provides an insurance. Something that you as a freemover must arrange for yourself.
Note Regardless of whether you are a freemover or go within the framework of an agreement, you must be accepted as a student at our institution!
Note that you use the same form is used for applying to: Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada Baldwin Wallace College, Ohio, USA
The entire application must be submitted in paper format to Ann-Sofi Rönnbäck.
Note the appendices to the application:
Personal letter
In the personal letter that is written in Swedish, you present yourself and justify why you apply for exchange studies (how does this fit your educational profile, why exactly that or the universities you specify etc.). Keep in mind that the appearance of the application tells you a lot about yourself.
Other qualifications
You can also attach any other qualifications to the application. It can be a certificate of language courses, a certificate of mentoring for international students or other commitments with international character, involvement in student associations or non-profit work outside the university.
